The African continent is slowly drifting apart due to the East African Rift, which is forming beneath Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and beyond. This geological process is set to reshape not only the continent’s physical structure but also the lives of those living in or near the affected regions. The rift is expected to create conditions that could lead to the discovery of ancient human fossils.
