The 7th Scientific Conference on Medical Products Regulation in Africa comes to an end today. The conference brought together policymakers, regulators, scientists and industry leaders to discuss regulatory harmonisation and its impact on health product manufacturing and trade.

The event aims to strengthen Africa's capacity to produce safe, quality-assured medicines and vaccines, reducing the continent's heavy reliance on imports. Currently, over 90% of medicines are imported, while less than 1% of vaccines are produced locally.
