As South Sudan prepares to mark 15 years of independence on July 9, young people are taking centre stage in a renewed call for peace.
A new youth-led campaign, launched under the United Nations' global advocacy initiative "Hear Us, Act Now for a Peaceful World," is amplifying the voices of young South Sudanese who are demanding an end to conflict and greater opportunities for their future. The campaign has been launched in Wau, Aweil and Juba, bringing together government leaders, artists, civil society and communities.
