South Africa’s international reputation is under growing scrutiny following recent anti-migrant marches across several major cities. The country’s Justice Minister and Chairperson of the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on Migration, Mmamoloko Kubayi, has acknowledged that the demonstrations are damaging the country’s image abroad.
Kubayi made these remarks as the committee updated the nation on actions outlined during President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address earlier this month on migration-related issues.
