South Africa’s Sports, Arts and Culture Minister, Gayton McKenzie, is facing backlash after tweets containing racially derogatory language towards black South Africans resurfaced online.
ActionSA has lodged a complaint with the South African Human Rights Commission, while the African Transformation Movement has submitted complaints to the Presidency, Parliament, and the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Ethics. ActionSA is also pursuing action against Minister Dean Macpherson, Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, for allegedly using racially charged language against party supporters.
