South Africa's (SA)  Department of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities is calling on law enforcement agencies to take action regarding kidnapping incidents involving women, children, and LGBTQ individuals. Over 15 000 kidnapping cases were recording in the 2022/2023 financial year, according to Statistic South Africa(SA). SA Government want more action taken against kidnapping incidents involving vulnerable

The high court in Johannesburg, South Africa has sentenced a mother of a toddler to 25 years in prison and her boyfriend has been handed life imprisonment.

24-year old Rochelle Both and her 37-year-old boyfriend Stefan van Niekerk were found guilty of the murder of 2-year-old Chevonne Rusch.

The court heard how the pair beat the toddler to death at their home in the east of Johannesburg. A postmortem report found 49 wounds and bruises on Chevonne's body.

Mother of 2 year old toddler sentenced to 25 years in prison for her murder in South Africa

The bodies of the 45 Botswana citizens who perished in a bus crash in South Africa's Limpopo province during Easter period are being repatriated back to their country. This after the finalisation of the identification processes of all the bodies.

Some of the bodies were burnt beyond recognition following the crash. A sole survive of the crash, an 8-year old girl was admitted in hospital and has since been reunited with her family in Botswana.

The crash took place when they where on their way to Moria for the Easter gathering.

45 Botswana citizens who perished in a bus crash in SA repatriated back to their country

At least 19 children have died due to a suspected measles outbreak in Nigeria's northeastern state of Adamawa. Adamawa State Health Commissioner Felix Tangwami said in a statement that measles was detected in more than 200 children in the Mubi North local government area. Stressing that medical personnel and medicines were quickly sent to the region, he assured that children with severe infections would be referred to specialist hospitals.
