 It is being reported that the AFC/M23 rebels have managed to contain the Ebola outbreak in areas under their control in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

According to data from the Congolese Health Ministry and the World Health Organisation, only four Ebola cases have been recorded in rebel-held territories since the outbreak was declared on 15 May. This contrasts with other parts of the country, where the virus continues to spread. Overall, the outbreak has infected 1,873 people and claimed 672 lives.
