President Cyril Ramaphosa has reiterated the need to tackle illegal immigration in South Africa (SA), warning that it places increasing pressure on public services and hampers efforts to create jobs for citizens. 

Speaking during the Presidency Budget Vote debate in the National Assembly in Cape Town, Ramaphosa said that while well-managed and regulated migration can contribute to economic growth and opportunity, government must act decisively to address illegal migration as part of building a safer, more stable and more prosperous society.
