Political tension is rising in Malawi following the arrest of two former ministers in Lilongwe.

Former Trade and Industry minister Vitumbiko Mumba and the former Minister of Local Government and Malawi Congress Party Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda were arrested last week and are expected to appear in court shortly.
