The event aims to catalyse significant strides in combating gender-based violence (GBV) and advancing gender equality. Attendees will benefit from a collaborative environment where they can share insights, strategies, and commit to actionable changes that foster gender inclusivity. The gathering is co-hosted by Shared Value Africa (SVA) and  KPMG. It is themed Accelerate Action and the organisers say it's a call to action for those at the helm of industry to lead with courage and commitment.

Kenya is sending its former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to South Sudan as a special envoy in an effort to defuse a rift between President Salva Kiir and his First Vice President, Riek Machar.

Machar has been under house arrest since Wednesday night, which ends a five year civil war.
