South Africa's opposition party, the economic freedom fighters (EFF) president elects Julius Malema says that his party will fight for among other things state capacity, infrastructure development and defend key infrastructure from privatization.

 Malema was speaking on Sunday evening during the closing stages of the party's three-day 3rd National People's Assembly held under the pillars "Defend, Rebuild and Advance" at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg in Gauteng Region of South Africa. Malema and other 5 top leaders of the party were elected unopposed guaranteeing a third term for Malema at the helm.

The three candidates who are vying for the position of Chairperson of the African Union last Friday participated in the African Union Leadership Debate. They addressed African citizens as they presented their visions and ideas on the implementation of Agenda 2063.

The debate sought to provide an opportunity to outline their vision of how they would lead the transformation of Africa through the implementation of the AU Mandate and Africa's Agenda 2063. It was hosted ahead of the election of the next AU Commission Chairperson in 2025 during the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the AU, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The Rwandan government has cited grave concerns over what is described as unresolved critical concerns between Rwanda and the neighbouring country the Democratic Republic of Congo, the two neighbours heads of state summit which would have been held on Sunday in the Angolan capital Luanda was postponed after decided not attend.

Namibia's electoral court has ordered the electoral commission to provide the parties with election materials such as the number of votes cast and counted at each polling station for their inspection.

The opposition parties alleged the election was flawed and potentially invalid due to an extension of voting for several days, among other issues.
