Rwandan President Paul Kagame has criticised the growing use of international sanctions, describing them as unfair, politically motivated, and a tool used by powerful nations to pressure weaker countries, particularly in Africa. Speaking at the Africa CEO Forum 2026 in Kigali, Kagame says sanctions often serve geopolitical and economic interests rather than justice. Lulu Gaboo spoke to Advocate Sipho Mantula, a researcher at the Thabo Mbeki African School of Public and International Affairs
