Spanish authorities say most of the estimated 60 000 migrants who stormed Spain's North African enclave of Ceuta have voluntarily returned to Morocco.

The developments come ahead of a meeting of European Union (EU) ministers later this week to coordinate the bloc's response to the crisis in the Spanish enclave. Meanwhile, Spain's Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, says the death toll linked to the border crossings has risen to at least 67 as of Saturday. He warned that the number could increase, with fears that there may be additional casualties on the Moroccan side of the border.
