South Africa's (SA) Ad Hoc Committee has decided that President Cyril Ramaphosa will, for now, not appear before the committee to answer questions regarding the establishment or disbandment of the Political Killings Task Team. Instead, Ramaphosa will submit a written response, however, the committee may still summon him to appear if it is not satisfied with his written answers.

 The uMkhonto weSizwe Party has condemned the refusal by Paul O'Sullivan and Brown Mogotsi to appear before the Committee, citing alleged security concerns.

The party says no individual is above the law and all persons summoned to appear before the committee must comply. Meanwhile, businessman Suleiman Carrim is taking the Madlanga Commission to court today in an urgent bid to prevent the inquiry from subpoenaing him to appear before it this Friday.
