Controversial tender mogul Vusimuzi Cat Matlala, has appeared in South Africa's Alexandra Magistrates' Court.

He faces charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder, linked to a 2023 hit attempt on his ex-girlfriend, actress, Tebogo Thobejane.

Matlala recently ditched his bail bid and remains in custody. His wife, Tsakani, who is out on bail, also faces the same charges.

The couple's court appearance comes amid an ongoing corruption probe into a cancelled police tender.
