The Citizens Advocacy for Social and Economic Rights, CASER, has expressed serious concern over the state of biosafety regulation in Nigeria. It follows the appointment of a Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency, NBMA, who they say does not meet the minimum qualification required by law. The organisation says appointing an unqualified person violates the law and renders the appointment illegal, null, and void.
