Political Parties in South Africa are calling for an urgent debate on the deepening crisis within the South Africa Police Service and the broader criminal justice system.
It follows explosive allegations by Kwa-Zulu Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi. Mkhwanazi claimed that Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu, is in regular contact with individuals linked to criminal activities.
He has also accused senior police officials of involvement in corruption.
