Following a referendum in September, Guinea's general elections have been set for the 28th of December 2025 to elect a new president few years under a military rule.

The vote is expected to formalize the rule of General Mamady Doumbouya, who seized power in a 2021 military coup and is now seeking to convert his transitional leadership into an elected presidency, despite earlier pledges not to run.

As Guinea allows for diaspora voting in this election, questions remain about preparedness and transparency abroad.
