Zimbabwe has received a timely health intervention in the form of medical equipment worth $600 000 from the United Arab Emirates, aimed at strengthening the country’s health delivery system.

The donation comes amid growing public outcry over the deterioration of healthcare services, which prompted President Emmerson Mnangagwa to conduct secret visits to two major hospitals in Harare recently.

The International Organisation for Migration - IOM says almost one million people have been displaced in the Middle East, as the region is facing a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian crisis with escalating conflict in both Lebanon and Iran.  The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon - UNFIL says the situation in south Lebanon has deteriorated since Hezbollah claimed responsibility for an attack on  Israel.
