Zimbabwe has paid just over 500 million dollars to white former commercial farmers as part of the country's ongoing efforts to resolve a decades-long- land dispute and t-o rebuild investors trust. The payouts are part of a 3 point 5 billion dollars global compensation agreement that was signed in 2020. To fund this deal, government issued US dollar treasury bonds to hundreds of displaced white farmers. The first payments where made in April this year. The agreement covers about 4000 commercial farmers. Some of the farmers have rejected the compensation and payment structure.
