The University of Johannesburg on Monday evening hosted the 223rd Anniversary Commemoration of the Haitian Flag, marking Haiti's enduring legacy as the world's first free Black republic. The event brought together diplomats, academics and members of the African and Caribbean communities to reflect on the historic ties between Haiti, Africa and the broader Diaspora.
