The University of South Africa (Unisa) is currently hosting the fourth Biennial International Conference on Library and Information Science Research in Africa (UNILISA) at its Muckleneuk Campus in Pretoria.
This year's conference, themed "Information Science for Futuristic Scholarship and Practice: Partnerships and Collaborations Across Boundaries Towards Society 5.0," brings together academics, students, and industry professionals to explore how information science can drive innovation and societal advancement in our rapidly evolving digital world.
To talks to us about the conference's objectives and highlights, Peter Ndoro spoke to Dr. Mashilo Modiba, Chairperson of the UNILISA Conference and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Science at Unisa.
Dr Modiba's research focuses on the application of artificial intelligence and Fifth Industrial Revolution technologies in library and information science.
