Despite significant investments by both government and corporate sectors estimated to be close to 97 million US dollars to combat gender-based violence (GBV) in South Africa in the last three years, the number of cases related to GBV continues to rise.
South African Police Service statistics show that there were over 58,000 cases in the 2022/2023 financial year.
