The United Nations mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, MONUSCO, says conflict-related sexual violence remains widespread, particularly in the eastern provinces of North and South Kivu. A new report by the UN Joint Human Rights Office documents hundreds of cases last year, affecting more than fifteen hundred victims, most of them women and girls.
