The UN Human Rights Chief, Volker Türk, has called for urgent investigations into killings and other alleged violations linked to Tanzania's October 29 elections.
Reports suggest hundreds may have been killed, with bodies reportedly taken to undisclosed locations by security forces. More than 150 opposition figures and other individuals are said to be in detention, with some charged with treason.
