Uganda Election Sparks Criticism Amid Violence and Internet Shutdown

Uganda's latest general election is drawing sharp criticism from civil society groups across Africa, amid reports of violence, arrests, and a nationwide internet shutdown in the days leading up to the vote. President Yoweri Museveni has been declared the winner, extending his time in power to nearly four decades. But the Pan-African Solidarity Network says the process lacked transparency and credibility, and is now calling on African institutions and the international community to respond.
