South African born boxer Dingaan Thobela, who is regarded one of the most celebrated boxers on the Africa continent, has died.
In his career, Thobela has held three world titles, world champion in two weight classes, holding the World Boxing Organization(WBO) lightweight title from 1990 to 1992, the World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight title in 1993 and the World Boxing Council(WBC) super-middleweight title in 2000.
Thobela, who is affectionately known as the 'Rose of Soweto', was found dead in his Mayfair apartment by his family members who were accompanied by police.
