A Kenyan politician and former Minister for Justice...an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. Martha Karua, she was the running mate of Raila Odinga in the 2022 Kenyan general election, running for Deputy President. Earlier this year she launched her own political party- the People's Liberation Party. Advocate Martha is known for her advocacy for women's rights and democratic reforms.

 A month ago, she was detained and deported from Tanzania, where she was to attend the court trail of Tazanian opposition leader, Tundu Lissu. She has also been representing Ugandan opposition politician Kizza Besigye, who was kidnapped in Kenya last year and taken back to his home country to face treason charges.
