2024 was a watershed year for Botswana to say the least.  With too many significant moments, the tectonic political shift that saw the revolutionary Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) losing power will be remembered for years to come.  Besides politics, Botswana had a scintillating year in the mining sector following the discovery of a 2, 488 carat diamond at its Karowe Diamond Mine, situated in Botswana's central district. And sports wise, Botswana senior national soccer team, commonly known as the Zebras, returned to the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) after 12 years on the sidelines.  Channel Africa's Shingirai Madondo reports.
