Last week saw the 141st anniversary of the 1885, Berlin Conference - a meeting of European powers that partitioned Africa without a single African at the table.
The borders drawn in European capitals would go on to shape the continent's political geography, state formation, conflicts, and even economic structures for generations. More than a century later, questions remain: Are Africa's contemporary challenges still rooted in those decisions? And what would it mean to truly move beyond the Berlin legacy?
To help us reflect on this, Professor Sabelo J. Ndlovu-Gatsheni.
