The Sydney Brenner Institute for Molecular Biosciences at South Africa's Wits University has released a study titled Heterogenous genetic architecture of prostate cancer susceptibility in sub-Saharan Africa which found that African men have a high risk of prostate cancer.

It's been described as the largest study of its kind on the continent to date with almost 8000 African men enrolled half had prostate cancer and were from five different countries.

Channel Africa's Sisi Segalo spoke to Medical Scientist and Researcher Dr Carl Chen - about the study.
