South Africa's Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, Gwede Mantashe, has called for unified action and a stronger marketing drive to protect and promote the value of natural diamonds.
Speaking at a high-level stakeholder consultation on Tuesday Mantashe underscored that natural diamonds remain a national treasure, even amid economic challenges.
He urged industry players to commit to a coherent strategy and a dedicated marketing fund to showcase the preciousness of South Africa's diamonds globally.
