South Africa's Department of International Relations and Cooperation is warning young women not to fall for unverified foreign job offers. Retired Interpol ambassador, Andy Mashaile, says human trafficking syndicates are using people's desperation for jobs to lure them to all sorts of illegal activities. This after social media influencers advertised suspicious employment opportunities on social platforms including TikTok and Instagram targeting women between the ages of 18 and 22.The phenomenon is not isolated to South Africa... In Kenya, 2 years ago the Directorate of Criminal Investigations issued a warrant of arrest for a man called - Wycliffe Onguti Magara. Magara was identified as the head of a local human trafficking network that recruits East Africans online with the promise of job opportunities in Southeast Asian countries.Now, Security Strategist and retired Interpol Ambassador, Andy Mashaile joins us to discuss this further
