The African National Congress (ANC) will now reset the Government of National Unity (GNU) to expand participation to parties outside of the coalition.
This comes as the party's frustrations with the main partner the Democratic Alliance mount and relations with the United States sour.
The party says its transformative agenda will not be dictated to by the United States even if leaders of the party are slapped with sanctions.
