Regional senior officials from across Southern Africa gathered in Pretoria over the past weekend for a two day Ordinary Meeting of the 45th Southern African Development Community (SADC) Council of Ministers, setting the stage for high-level ministerial discussions later this week. The Minesterial Council meeting, hosted at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation headquarters, under the theme "Advancing Industrialisation, Agricultural Transformation, and Energy Transition for a Resilient SADC," delegates were expected to deliberate on a set of regional developmental priorities amid rising geopolitical tensions, economic volatility, climate-related shocks, and disruptions to global supply chains.
