South Africa's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola has warned that rising geopolitical tensions, economic volatility and climate-related shocks are increasing pressure on economies across Southern Africa. Lamola was speaking on Thursday at a two-day Ordinary Summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Council of Ministers, currently underway in the capital Pretoria. The meeting has brought together regional ministers to review progress on SADC programmes, assess the implementation of decisions taken at previous summits and council meetings, and discuss priorities aimed at strengthening regional integration and accelerating development across the bloc.
