SA Ramaphosa outlines the country's strategy to push back against US Tarriffs

South Africa has broken its silence on the United States' (US) recent decision to impose a 30 percent tariff on key South African exports. 

Speaking to the media outside a windy Union Buildings in Pretoria on Friday, South African (SA) President Cyril Ramaphosa outlined the country's strategy to push back against the measures and protect local industries.

From trade talks to targeted support for affected sectors, the president says SA will not be standing idly by Ramaphosa also confirmed that SA's offer to the US during trade negotiations did not include any discussion of military cooperation, a clarification aimed at addressing public speculation.
