South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, condemning the loss of civilian lives, damage to critical infrastructure, and the worsening humanitarian crisis.
Ramaphosa's statement comes after his briefing with the media on Thursday morning at the Union Buildings in Pretoria during Ukranian President Volodomyr Zelensky's working visit to South Africa.
Ramaphosa reiterated South Africa's stance that the only viable path to peace is through diplomacy, inclusive dialogue, and adherence to the principles of the United Nations Charter, particularly the mandate for member states to resolve disputes peacefully.
