Constance Kanatu, a Professional Nurse specialising in Ophthalmology in the North West province of South Africa, has been crowned as the Most Caring Nurse for 2024 in the country.

This was at an event held in the capital city of South Africa, Pretoria on Thursday. She was awarded with the Marilyn Lahana Caring National Award, named after Marilyn Lahana, a Johannesburg nurse who died after contracting Ebola virus after she cared for the patient selflessly. About a week ago, South Africa's opposition party, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), held its National People's Assembly at Nasrec in Johannesburg. Political analyst Sandile Swana has weighed in on the credibility of the newly elected leadership to guide the party forward. African countries join forces to promote the trade, quality of leather products

The Border Management Authority (BMA) has temporarily suspended the processing of trucks at South Africa's (SA) Lebombo Port of Entry into Mozambique, allowing only small vehicles and pedestrians to cross.

The suspension comes ahead of Mozambique's Constitutional Council officially declaring Frelimo the winner of the October elections. BMA Commissioner Mike Masiapato stated the decision aims to mitigate risks from potential protests targeting cargo, adding that trucks could be rerouted through Eswatini if necessary.
