Speaking at the Second Barayi Memorial Lecture, hosted by the Department of Employment and Labour in collaboration with the University of Johannesburg (UJ), Mantashe emphasized how their commitment to worker rights, equality, and freedom fueled a bold program of action that was adopted by the ANC in 1949, a program that boldly defied apartheid laws and helped the world recognize apartheid as a crime against humanity.
