The South African government has withdrawn its controversial ban on food products containing hemp and cannabis, following pressure from civil rights group Free SA.
The reversal was confirmed by Health Minister Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi, who faced a potential court battle over the issue. The Foundation for Rights of Expression and Equality South Africa - Free SA, challenged the legality of the regulations, arguing that the government failed to follow due process and consult the public as required by law.
To speak to us about this is Free SA spokesperson Reuben Coetzer.
