The Southern Africa Litigation Centre has launched a case seeking to suspend permits allowing the export of South African-made arms to the US, arguing that Washington's recent military actions amount to violations of international law and a threat to international peace and security.The organisation says South Africa's arms control laws require the government to suspend such exports in these circumstances. It also argues this is the first time a South African court has been asked to halt arms exports to a permanent member of the UN Security Council. Peter Ndoro spoke to Dr Atilla Kisla, International Justice Cluster Lead at the Southern Africa Litigation Centre.
