A fresh wave of protests have erupted in Mozambique capital Maputo, following the October 9 election results announcement, which show that the ruling Frelimo Party has won  by over 70 percent  of the vote.

Tensions have been simmering in the southern African nation since last Saturday, when police officers shot and killed two opposition party figures.  The Frelimo party has ruled the country since 1975, when the nation gained independence from Portugal.
