Post Mozambique elections update: Protests break out in Maputo

View descriptionShare

Mozambique experienced a tense Monday with police firing teargas at protesters in the capital Maputo.

The protesters had gathered at the scene where two opposition party figures were shot dead on Saturday after a disputed election.

In one incident, protestors overturned a police officer armoured vehicle and were filmed jumping up and down on it.

The national strike was called in protest against the results of the 9th of October general elections.

For more on this, Peter Ndoro spoke to Director at Mozambique's Center for Public Integrity, Edson Cortes.
