The South African Rainbow Alliance (SARA) describes itself as a pre-election alliance of like-minded political parties, civic and faith-based organisations, and a house of traditional leaders established for the purpose of maximising the voter support base in the South African elections.
To the South African electrorate, they promise amongst other things to professionalise the public service, the elimination of the Deputy Minister role from government, as well as the introduction of special grants for unemployed single men headed families.
