Nigeria is intensifying efforts to combat oil theft in the Niger Delta as it aims to boost production to three million barrels per day by 2025. The country, which depends on oil for two-thirds of its revenue, and over ninety percent of foreign earnings, has struggled with theft that has impacted finances. Although next year's budget estimates oil output at 2-point-6 million barrels per day, actual production remains around one-point-8 million barrels per day.
