An estimated 25 million children were un- or under-vaccinated last year - 6 million more than in 2019 - increasing their risk of contracting deadly and debilitating diseases. This is according to a new UN report released at the World Health Summit underway in Berlin. The report calls upon the global community to address this damaging trajectory and protect the promises made to women, children, and adolescents in the Sustainable Development Goals. For more on its findings of the report, Channel Africa's Aurelie Kalenga spoke to Dr Anshu Banerjee, Director for the World Health Organisation's Department of Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health & Ageing.
