As global leaders convene in Seville for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, new figures from UNESCO's Global Education Monitoring Report paint a worrying picture for the future of education.

Despite education being key to economic growth, social stability, and peace, international aid is in steep decline. Aid to education is projected to fall by 25% by 2027, leaving low-income countries facing a 97 billion US Dollars annual funding gap.
