The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) and the Government of Malawi have launched the construction of a battery energy storage system (BESS) at the Kanengo substation in Malawi's capital city, Lilongwe.

This is GEAPP's first BESS project in Africa.

Despite Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo sharing good relations enhanced by the Zambia-DRC Joint Permanent Commission the two countries have unending border disputes both on land and water.

The dispute has deepened with the fatal shooting of a Zambia National Service officer in Ndola.

Border disputes between Zambia & DRC continue

The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) has officially announced that the governing party SWAPO has won the 2024 Presidential and National Assembly elections that were held last week.

However, some political parties have boycotted the announcement of final election results last night.

SWAPO's presidential candidate, now Namibia's President elect, Netumbo Nandi- Ndaithwa outlined unemployment as one her priorities if voted into office.

Biden was speaking in Luanda, Angola during his first presidential visit to sub-Saharan Africa.

Biden's three-day visit to Angola is also his last international trip as he prepares to hand over the reigns to incoming President, Donald Trump.
