Malawi and Botswana have signed agreements in trade, mining, agriculture, and youth empowerment — in line with Malawi’s Agriculture, Tourism, and Mining (ATM) strategy aimed at reviving its struggling economy.
The two countries also agreed to establish embassies in each other’s capitals, following talks between their respective foreign affairs ministers.
Speaking at Malawi’s 61st Independence Anniversary celebrations on Sunday, President Lazarus Chakwera said the presence of Botswana’s President, Duma Boko, as guest of honour reflected a shared commitment to democracy and development.
